My talisman is a stuffed animal; but not any stuffed animal it had signatures on it from alot of my friends. I got it when i was in the hospital last school year. My mom brought it up to the hospital for people to sign so i could always remember all the people that came to visit me. Everyday when i look at it in my room it reminds me that there are many people who care about me; and many people that came to the hospital. Its helps me to remember the struggle i went threw being so sick, and the fact that there was and still are many people standing by my side to help me through whatever i may go threw.
Best Stanza from my poem;
When life has little or no meaning,
when you feel no one is aware,
I’ll be there because I care! !

My talisman is my lucky penny. Sometimes it is lucky and sometimes it isn’t. In the morning I flip it three times because three is suppose to be a lucky number. If it lands on heads 2 of the times it is lucky but the third flip has to be heads or it doesn’t count. Then after all of that I put my lucky penny in my left shoe and then I have good luck for the rest of the day. I found my lucky penny near the ocean three summers ago and I carried it around since then. I sometimes forget my penny and the days I forget this days are my worst days. So Mr. Kreinbring people can have change in there pocket as there talisman. You gotta know the story first.
My talisman is a pikachu doll that I have had since kindergarten, and was given to me from my mother. This doll represents how my mother loves me and it reminds me of memories that I have had that I normally don’t remember. The color has faded as well as the eyes but I still love that doll because it reminds me of all the fun times that I had.
Stanza;
One’s-self must never give way—that is the final substance—that out of all
is
sure;
My talisman is the diamond stud earrings that i was given when i was a baby. The earrings mean alot to me for the fact that my parents worked hard to get them. It symbolizes their love for me and how much they care. My mom wasn’t able to have diamond earrings when she was a baby. And she wanted to make sure that during my years of growing I would always have something to remember her with( And no shes not dead). Even though their just earrings they give me wisdom and guideness.
My talisman is a necklace that my parents gave me. The necklace means a lot to me because it reminds me of my parents. The necklace goes with a ring that says ‘ I made a wish, and you came true.’ Which shows that my parents are proud of me, and love me.
Failure after success is unmemorable,
But success after failure is memorable,
Life is a mixture of success and failure,
It comes and moves like clouds in the sky.

My talisman is a silver necklace with a cross. It was given to me by my dad a long time ago. I never really wore it, but I would keep it in my pocket for good luck. He gave it to me after my confrimation and thought that it was very special. It was blessed and so it really means a lot. Most of the time it gives me good luck.
Stanza-
She swoops to catch a perfect wave,
her wings held staight and true.
You lift your chin and hold your breath
and wish you could do it too.
My tallisman wan my necklace from my mom. She bought it for me when i was little but she wouldn’t let me wear it. Now that I am older, she trust me that i wont lose it. This necklace is like a good luck charm to me. It shows me that my mom cares for me and loves me. It also protects me from scary things that I think about. It helps me and it protects me. This shows me how much she cares for me. And it reminds me of her everytime I wear it.
My talisman is bobble head of Dmitri Young. I got my talisman when I went to my first Tiger’s game. That was a great day and the bobble head toped of the great day. I liked baseball so much that day that I strated to play baseball and I had fun doing it.
Favorite stanza-
my brother fell inlove
and he’s very very happy .

My talisman is a rosary. It is white and blue and made by my grandma. It is very important to me because she made it for me when i was just a little kid and i was the only grandchild to get one from her. She also made it by her own hands. I wear this rosary when i go to bed and i use it when i pray. It also seems bring me good luck because every time i wear it on a test i always seem to do good.
Stanza
Midnight and moonlight and bright shining stars;
Darkness and glory rejoicingly blending,
Earth rising to heaven and heaven descending,
My taulsmin is my necklass that my grandma gave me of a cross. When she gave me this I was in so much pain because of my broken anckle.She told me that it would only get better and one day i had a big track meet I wore it the whole day and then i went to the track meet to go high jump. I pulled away with the first place.so to this day before my track or sporting event i where me cross and take it off be fore the event starts.
Never be afraid to take your turn.
Because winners are people who just never quit,
And this is a life lesson we all will learn.
A talisman of mine would have to be my Winnie the Pooh stuffed animal my dad gave me for my birthday. Yes, it was very recent but it had been 14 years since I had last seen my dad. My mom and dad split up a long time ago and didn’t keep in contact. When I met him over the summer we got really close. He took on trips and other things and I am in love with Pooh Bear. For my birthday he bought me a very cute stuffed one and it meant alot to me.
And every moment,
If life were the wind
We’d always be flying

These responses are very good. Your talismans sound important to you. Would you react the way Holden did when Stradlater criticized Allie’s mitt?
Some of you only received half credit because you neglected to post your poem.

I brought a bracelet to class as my talisman. This bracelet means a lot to me because I bought it for my mom for Christmas. I guess she liked it a lot, seeing how she wore it everyday. Two months later she passed away. For the funeral my aunt and dad decided what my mom would wear, they decided that she should wear my bracelet that I bought her. After the funeral I got the bracelet back. I wear it almost everyday in memory of my mom.
The poem I picked was What If Life? By B.Allen
I really liked the quote “What if in life we had everything,
Do you think it would get boring?”
I think that quote fits perfectly because it seems like nothing is ever good enough for people now. They always want more and there’s never an end, although if we had everything and couldn’t dream about things that we desire, life would be no fun. There would be no hard work with fancy things in the end. The world would be lazy.

My talisman was my old key from indiana. To others it may seem just to be a old house key but to me if represents much more. It represents everything that happened in that house, good or bad. It reminds me of my early childhood. It brings me back to the time where all i cared about was family friends and soccer. When life was so simple.
And when the journey finally ends,
We’ll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the lord

MY talisman is a card that my dad drew and painted for me when i was younger. The reason this means alot to me is because my dad has been in jail my whole life and this is one of the many things that he has sent me over the years. It reminds me alot of him because i miss him very much.
My favorite stanza from my poem is “It takes Courage to care about friends and the daily test they encounter. To let them know you will stand by them through each struggle.”

My talisman is the gold bracelet that my uncle gave me. he gave it to me a long time ago so i don’t really know why he gave it to me. I wear it because it makes my feels closer to him and my family and tells me that they love me and care about me.

My talismen that has special meaning to me is my ring. My ring isnt just any old ring. My grandmother gave me this ring. My grandmother died when I was eleven. She was the only grandomther I ever knew. So for her to give me something that I can hold on to and keep to remmber her Forever and ever is the best thing a granddaughter can get. I loved her very much. I dont carry it around only because I’m afraid I will loose it.But it has much sentimental meaning.
My talisman is a shell of one of the guns fired at my aunts funeral. Its special because i was close to my aunt wne she died.
stanza-
The lightnings blaze across the vaulted skies,
And, as the thunder shakes the heav’nly plains,
A deep felt horror thrills through all my veins.
When gentler strains demand thy graceful song,
The length’ning line moves languishing along.
When great Patroclus courts Achilles’ aid,
The grateful tribute of my tears is paid;

My talismen is a necklace that my grandfather gave to me when i was very little. The necklace has a hockey player on the front while on the back is a bible verse that says with God all things are possible. The reason that it is so special to me is not only that my grandpa gave it to me the verse on the back is what I think about everytime I am struggeling with something.
It’s All I have to bring to-day,
This, and my heart beside,
This, and my heart, and all the fields,
And all the meadows wide.

The best line from my poem is
Like hundreds of bright butterflies
soaring carefree up in blue skies
or
Don’t wait ,Don’t hesitate…
Before you know it will be to late

My talisman would probably have to be granpa’s pocket knife. It’s silver with a brass case. It may be a little rusted, but it means a lot to me because I had a very good relationship with my grandpa. This knife was given to me on the day my grandfather passed away.
Some days deliver happiness,
Far more than we can touch.
We need the help of all our friends
To comprehend how much.

My talisman that i brought in was a picture of my mom. It’s her walking up a staircase looking so calm and peaceful. Like to me it symbolized her being in a better place kind of like a “stairway to heaven.” I never used to carry it around with me when i went places but now thats changed. I guess you could say now i relize how much my life, family and friends are important to me. I’ve relized how much i love and miss my mom. Now i don’t tak life for granted to much anymore.

My favorite stanza from my poem is:
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a fellow turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow -
You may succeed with another blow.
