My green light would have to be my parents. Even when I get off focus my mom and dad are always there to pull my and make me do my best. The thing that keeps me going is the fact that i always want to make them proud. Even if that means hard work during the process. People, ecspecially me, loose focus alot so as long as I know I always got something waiting or there as my support I keep going. My green light makes me mad sometimes but i realize in the end they’re only there to help me out. I don’t know what i would do without it. I think everybody needs a “greenlight” and that everybody has one. Because without it there’s no drive or anything to make you determined to do something.

Wow. He really got a lot out of reading this book, comparing it to the Bible and everything. He hit the nail on the head by saying that the Great Gatsby is straight forward. (Which makes it completely different than TEWWG). I enjoy Nic’s honesty. I don’t know how much they paid those kids to act like they cared if Nic is a reliable narrator, but this book deals with things teenagers are immersed in at all times, like dealing with social situations, budding romances and break ups. Some times during this book i feel like i crawl into Nic’s skin and go through his experience instead of him. It has been years since a book drew me in to the extent that this book does.
The green light seems to be the same thing as the boats on the horizon in TEWWG. The dream of reaching of dream, and yet it is out of reach. In TEWWG we see this “light” through the eyes of a woman, while here we see it through the eyes of a man.
I really hope that as i read further into the story i can get as much out of it as the men in Studio 360 do.

My motivation for school and sports would have to be my grades. If I don’t do well in my grades my parents will take me out of the sports. But they don’t know is that in order for me to do good for my grades would have to be I do sports because it keeps my grades up and good. For a little bit then they go right back down.

My Green light is courisity this is what drives me and pulls me and it allways have a surprise to it and thats what the green light at the end of the docks stands for me .

In my life, when i am doing anything i do it for my parents, which to me is my green light. They are the reason i keep going forward. A good example of when I showed it the most was during a wrestling match, the kid did an illegal slam and i didn’t think i could finish the match. I then looked up at my parents, thought to myself i have to finish it for them, so I got up and finished the match for them. Which is why i believe my parents are my light to keep on going.

My green light in my life would have to be God. He drives me to be who I am. I grow better everyday through him. He is my rock and my strength. He never leaves me, whenever I fall he always catches me with something better. When one door closes-he opens another for me. He protects me(my sword). On the other hand I have my family. Some are with me others not. They keep me grounded and keep me moving in the natural. Other times they may drive me insane. I love them all to death whether they know it or not.

My green light would have to be god. I use god everyday in my life. I read the bible and use that as a guide in my life. When times get rough, he is there to help me get through it. He also is always watching me and making sure that I am safe. Another green light is my family. They set my standards and make sure that I am always doing the right thing. They are there through the rough and bad times. I can always talk with them whenever I want and they are always there for me.

My green light would have to be my grandmother. She lets me know that no matter what im going through that i should always keep my head up. I say she is my green light because she keeps me who i am. I want to her to be proud of me and i want to use her advice to my advantage. With out my grandma i really wouldnt have anybody to give me that little bit of extra “umphh” that i need every once and a while. I know that when i need something or something is bothering taht i have my family and god and thats what comes first in my life and keeps me motovatied to do the things for myself. Only because i have learned that my decisions dont only effect me they also effect the people i love.

In my life my green light would have to be my mom. I’ve seen I don’t think I’d be able to get through. I wanna show my mom that i don’t want to struggle like she does . I want my mom to see my drive to make something out of my life and not be a screw up . Not just my mom , but the world , I want to show everyone that I’m going to make something out of my life. My mom is the reason i try to push my self , and if I’m not dong what my mom thinks is my best she tells me and tells me I’m better that that and I can do better than that. My mom is my extra push when times get hard.

My green light would have to be god and my parents. Everytime i am in a rough situation i know that i can pray to god and he will help me figure out what the right thing is to do. I also read the bible before i go to bed to re insure my self that i always have someone to talk to when i am in time of need. My parents are also my green light because they push me back in line once i do something wrong and also encourge me to do good in school and also they taught me how to stay out of trouble.

The green light in my life is the dream of me being a great world class swimmer. This helps me in practice and in meets to swim and try as hard as I can so that one day I can be a world class swimmer. Also this drives me to be the best because the better you are the more free stuff you can get and that always makes me happy. Otherwise just being the best swimmer that I can be and being able to beat the other competition in the pool around me is my green light and how it helps me be a better person.

My green light in my life is being a good baseball player. I always have fun every time I play baseball. I play with passion and heart and never give up or take a play off. I give it my all every time i step out onto the field. My green light when i practice baseball is knowing that I can always get better and I practice how I play.

The green light in my life would have to be the idea of being successful. I have seen my sister and brother go through the same classes i have in high school and do not as good as they could have. Having seen them makes me want to do better. Seeing how their choices really did effect their outcome on the jobs and colleges that are open to them, makes me want to do better. To know that if i stay focused a little more than they did, i can be more successful than they are. So i guess my green light would also be the competitive spirt that i have, and how i use it to push me farther and using my siblings as benchmarks for myself.

My Green light would have to be, my future. Thinking about my future really inspires me to do good in school and just be a good person. I know that, right now everything i do is shaping my future. If i do good in school and i respect people who give me respect back, i know that i will be able to make a good future for myself. If i screw up now, it will be very hard for me to catch up and drive myself to do better later in life, if im so use to not trying at this point in my life. If i get bad grades and disrespect people that are important to me, then i wont have a successful life later, or even now, and i wont have to many friends either. Thats why my future drives me to do things good, its my green light.

In my life my green light would have to god. God I the one who keeps me going when I think I cant go any further. He keeps me on the right path and never goes away in a tough situation. He would never give me anything that I cant handle. Their has never been a moment that I was never grateful to have him in my life and I f I didn’t I don’t know what I’d do.

My green light would have to be my goals and ambitions. The thought of success keeps me motivated, my goals keep my pushing and trying my hardest in life. Whether its a small or large goal I give it my all and do what it takes to accomplish it. I go for the things I want most in life and I think it will help me in my future.

The green light in my life would have to be my future. My future is what pulls me forward and keeps me going every day. I am inspired by my hopes of going to college and someday getting a good job and starting a family that i will be able to support. This is what drives me to succeed.

The green light in my life is failure. I don’t mean that I want to fail in life, but the idea of me finishing school and not being successful is what motivates me. Thinking ahead, I have a lot of things I want to do with my life. I want to be an anesthesiologist and have a successful life somewhere warm. Failure is not an option to me. When I fail all my dreams fail right along with me. The greenlight to Gatsby was somthing that motivated him to pursue what he wanted. The green light for me is to never fail and in return I will get the things I want in life.

The Green Light in my life would have to be my family and friends. It would be my family and friends because they motivate me to stay in school and finish the year strong, and apply myself well in school. Even though i have not really shown this in my classes i have decided to make a change today, that i will finish this year not only for my friends and family but for myself. I am also going to try my best for my mom, because she always wanted me to finish school and i believe i can at least give her that.

The Green light in my life would have to be God. It’s because of him that Iv’e learned to grow and accept responsibility. He has been with me through all my life.. Making sure I stay on the right path and do what’s right. He motivates me to want to succeed. To be able to go to college and make something of myself. He’s a support system for everything I do. When I feel like I can’t depend on my parents he’s right behind me. It doesn’t matter if I’m wrong or right. He allows me to grow by making mistakes and not warning when I’m about to make one. Just knowing that I have him behind me, drives me to succeed and enjoy life to the fullest. He is my Green Light through everything.

My green light would be my aunt because she is always there through the rough times. Another green light of mine would be my mom because she is always there when ever I need someone to talk to. She also keeps me motivated on my school work so that I can succed in school. Knowing that she is there for me makes me really happy, and that I can go out and enjoy life without making any mistakes. Even though I do make some mistakes in my life, she is still there to help me out.

The green light in my life would be my family. They take care of me and help me in life. I love my family because i was lucky to be born by them rather born into a poor family. I would be clueless in life if i didnt have my family because they guide me so much.
