Characters that Makes Us Twitch

In a recent response Mrs. Allan wrote that the characters that bother us that make us “twitch” are the ones that reveal something about ourselves. I was complaining about the portrayal of fathers in The Spiderwick Chronicles movie. I completely agree with her and I was wondering what characters make me twitch every time I meet them. Some of them remind me of my own shortcomings-Willy Loman’s difficulty connecting to his sons and allowing his own fears to become their unreachable dreams. Others seem to accuse me of not living up to the person I thought I’d be when we first met. I’ll never be as smart and brave as Pheadrus or as adventurous as any of Conrad’s characters. I’m sure I’ll never be Telemachus or Achilles and I’l never have a racoon like Sterling North did in Rascal .
